(or where I play with burlap and vintage lace) Hello! So much for getting on a new blogging schedule and blogging more frequently, right? It's coming. Really, it is. So, I showed you a little peek of a burlap tote I was working on the other day and I had a chance to make a few more. I'm calling them my vintage prairie bags because that's what they make me think of. Burlap and earthy materials combined with lace and beautiful elements.
These first two are large pouches. I have several more ideas for pouches, I just need some more time.
I've also been making these mini totes. I seem to be addicted to making them...There are currently several hanging on hooks all around the studio.
I used fabric from a thrifted skirt, vintage ruffles, and vintage millinery on this one. Love those old daisies with the spun cotton centers.
I made both of the white bags using a vintage thrifted skirt, and pretty faded pink millinery.
And I couldn't get a very good photo of this pink one, but the ruffles on it are from a VERY old skirt I picked up in a flea market in New York. I only seem to be able to use any of those ruffles only every once in a while. You know how that is, right?
So, that's what I've been up to creatively. What about you? What are you working on these days?
I've also been doing laundry, and getting all orders out so before we leave for San Francisco. I can't wait. I haven't spent 5 days with Kenz since Christmas and it will be good to catch up with her. Plus she has never been to San Francisco and I know she is going to love it! It's so crazy to me that her freshman year in college is almost over. My baby girl registered for her senior year classes this week too. Gah! Another year and I'll be an empty nester. That seems so very strange to me...but we're not going to think about that yet.
Oh! You might be wondering when I am planning on listing the flowers and other new things I mentioned in my previous post. I'm planning a shop update at the end of this week. I decided to put it off while we got ready for our trip, so I will make all of the new things live in the shop right before we get home, that way I can begin shipping them as soon as we get home.
Ok, I'm off to go clean up the house some more. Do you do that? Clean house before you leave for vacation? I always like everything tidy before we go somewhere, that way we walk into a tidy house when we get home. Kind of crazy, I guess.

LOVE your Vintage Prairie Bags, Cerri! They're just wonderful. How exciting about your trip to San Francisco. Although my husband has been there so many times on business and loves it, I have yet to visit.
