Hello! It's been a while since I shared any art here, and it's been a while since I've done any art. But early this summer before the madness of opening our little store started, I was feeling a little creative and started working on a book about women. I thought I would share a bit of that with you. It's a wip, and hopefully I will be have time to work on it again soon, but here's what I have so far.
Of course I used lots of lace, I still can't seem to create anything without lace. Then again, why would I want to? :)
I used some of my dyed appliques, cheesecloth, vintage pattern tissue, and adhered it all with the fabulous Claudine Hellmuth matte medium. I seriously love that stuff. It works on just about every medium out there and has such a nice matte finish.
The silhouette cameo is a rub on that I adhered to chipboard. Once it was on the chipboard it really felt like leather! This was a fun, get your hands dirty kind of book, and that's oh so therapeutic, isn't it?
More lace, dotted swiss, paint, ink etc. I covered one of my little doll dress forms with some vintage pattern tissue and paint.
The image I used here came from a fabulous collage sheet I purchased from this lovely etsy shop. (my favorite for collage sheets) I just printed the image out in black and white rather than color.
Each page has pockets on the back that holds pages for journaling my thoughts and secrets. I'll show you those pages when I get more of the book finished.
My original thoughts for this book were for it to become a kit to sell in the shop, and I may still do that if there is enough interest? Either way, I'm itching to get back to it and finish it.
So, what have you been working on?
Also, I'm finding myself in need of a little design team. I've been talking to some friends and have a couple gals that are interested in being on a Little Pink Studio design team, but I may need a couple more. I'm still trying to figure out how to go about that and to work out the details, but if it interests you, would you shoot me an email?
Be back soon!
Cerri xoxo

Your book is absolutely georgous Cerri! If I had to guess, I'd say you must have been thinking about how much you love and appreciate your Mother when your started creating, and that her birthday is just around the corner. :)

Your little lace book is as sweet as it can be Cerri. The soft color palette is so feminine and lovely.

So smitten with your book {especially the dress form page - <3 <3!}. The lace just makes me weak in the knees! You have my vote for a kit - to have all of the supplies in one package would be wonderful.

Cerri,
Love this tattered collage. I just snagged the little forms from my daughters Barbie outfit the other day. I love how you used one in your work.
