Wow! I can't believe we're finally open! As promised, I took lots of photos. We didn't get everything completely finished, and I still have tons of inventory to add, but we got as much in place for opening weekend as we could. The opening went really well, and I'm excited to keep working on it all. Eventually, I hope to open a stand alone retail store, but for now this is what we're going with. There are a ton of photos, so I'll try and "talk" as little as possible and just show you the photos. (you might want to grab a glass of iced tea, and have a few moments to relax)
Stickles, Glimmer Mist, Liquid Pearls, Coccoina, wood mounted stamps, matte medium,..and gorgeous inks. The stamps you see that are not currently on the website will be there soon. (same with new Stickles, Liquid Pearls, and all those fantastic inks)
(Yep, all of the fabulous paper tapes will be on the website soon as well.)
Pretty paper straws and a help yourself cupcake topper section.
Yes, those are egg cartons. I have 4 styles, and they're the absolutely perfect size for miniature cupcakes. The blank cartons allow you to customize your labels for parties or gifts. They're also fun for filling with trinkets and such. If you've been reading here a while you may remember I did a spring/Easter kit in the vintage egg cartons some time ago. I was happy to find that they had been reproduced! I'll have them on the website soon.
I had to have a football cupcake kit as this is UT country, and it's huge here..(also why I have orange paper straws..)
There are three new prize ribbon designs, but I think this little darling is my favorite.
This is something I was really excited about. I wanted the shop to have a little space where a customer could sit and try out items that they have never used before. I have samples set up of the Glimmer Mists, Stickles, unmounted stamps, etc. I had also hoped to do make and takes at some point, but my shop is pretty tiny, so I may just stick to doing individual demos and let customers sample what they would like.
My little cash and wrap center plus and extra chair for the sample table. My cash counter was a fabulous find from the Hwy 127 sale this year. It's an antique jewelers cabinet and the other side has great little drawers and such. It was filthy, and black when we found it, and it still needs some work on the top, but it was a great find and I really love it.
I still have lots of things to get up on the walls, including my sign that we're waiting on, and I need lots and lots of samples in the shop. I still have a ton of inventory to add, and two mannequins that are waiting to be made over, but I'm happy with the start.
My family was so very supportive and wonderful through this process. I have to admit, I was getting a tad bit cranky the closer to opening we got. :) My girls both worked hard, and so did my husband helping me get it all ready. Even my Mom and niece pitched in to help some! I feel blessed, indeed.
I hope you enjoyed the little tour, and if you're ever in the area, please stop in to see us! We're open Fri-Sun, 10-5. (those hours may change soon as the facility is thinking of extending the hours a bit)
Tomorrow morning I leave to go help my college student get settled back into her dorm and then hopefully I will start getting new products listed on the website. You might want to check in frequently as I'll be slowly getting things added.
