A shower for Analiah Grace

Hello! Two weeks ago my Mom and I threw a little baby shower/luncheon for my sister in law, and just a few days before that, Mom asked me if I could handle the decorating and such for the shower. Luckily, my sister in law happens to like vintage things and I also happen to collect vintage baby items, so I used what I had on hand and this is how it turned out. 

Mom and I made these giant tissue paper balls. (I have to admit, Mom did most of the work on those, as I simply do not  have the patience for all that picking apart of tissue paper) 

We also decorated the dining room with vintage baby dresses hung on the wall, and vintage baby bonnets on hat stands in various places. 

Layers of vintage linens and china, paired with roses in milk glass make for lovely table settings. 

I used old baby shoes and tags to mark each place setting. (and of course vintage linen napkins. :) )

Anyone that wanted the baby shoe could take them home as a little party favor. 

This is my favorite baby bonnet. 

Since we were short on time, I purchased ready made cupcakes and repackaged them in prettier liners. 

Our favorite French lemonade. Love this stuff, and of course the sweet little bottles make for pretty presentation too. We paired the lemonade with pink paper straws.

In the sunroom we set up a table for gifts. 

I love to put my gifts in baskets, and I always take things out of their original packaging...it just feels much more personal. 

The Momma seemed pleased with everything, and the shower came just in time as Analiah Grace was born this past Saturday! She's just beautiful, and hopefully I will have a photo to share soon. (I ran off to the hospital w/out my camera! )

Have you discovered this darling, new magazine? My daughter and I found it a couple months at Barnes and Noble and just fell in love with it. It's full of beautiful photos and tutorials, and is just laid out wonderfully. 

This is last month's issue, I've been trying to find them all to slip into care packages to send off to Kenz, my daughter in college. Here's a peek at some of my favorite pages from this issue.

When my Mr. gets his craft on...

So yesterday was our anniversary, and my husband brought me this enormous bouquet of pink and white flowers along with a pancake breakfast. (love pancakes anytime!) Aren't they lovely? To give you a little sense of just how spectacular this bouquet of flowers is, take a look at the photo below. 

See the bouquet of roses to the left in the blue jar? Those are standard size roses that he brought me earlier in the week! I was thrilled with the beautiful flowers and breakfast and absolutely did not expect anything else for our anniversary this year because of just opening the new business and the whole having to replace our kitchen floor fiasco. (did I tell you about that?? Our ice maker leaked and now our kitchen needs new floors, fun stuff.) 

But then, when I was on the phone with my Mom, he brought me this little paper box. It's his paper replica of a vintage, pink chifferobe that he has on order for me. He was so cute..."it's even distressed", he says. Gah! He certainly does know how to melt a heart, doesn't he? 

And yes, that is a little jewelry box you see inside the 'chifferobe'. :) Yep, I think I'll keep him forever and ever. 

Have I mentioned before that I have the best husband in the world?
