Hello! I've been recuperating from surgery, and am still pretty much couch bound, but thankfully, I have crafts to keep me from going crazy, right? The above Valentines were actually part of January's Little Pink Box, they were 1 of 2 creative kits for the month.
The project was to create a garland with the pieces, but they would also make lovely Valentine's I think. The crepe paper used and included in the kits was a fantastic find. It's old Dennison crepe paper in pink and lavender, and it's so faded and just wonderful. I love old crepe paper, don't you? I was able to purchase several packages for just $2 a package! I should have bought even more than I did. Ha.
The 2nd project was a sweet little book kit using very old red leather book covers, petite collage sheets, pretty papers, old papers, and bits of vintage fabric scraps and trims. Here's a few of my pages I have worked on while sitting here on the couch.
This page isn't even glued down yet, I keep messing around with it. Sometimes I do that, agonize over a page forever, other times, I roll out a page with out even thinking about it. Really, I wish I always worked that way.
The little books are only 4" tall, but due to the way I created the inside pages there's 11 pages (front and back) to play with. I love making books, and wonder if I will ever get tired of them?
I actually had 3 extra books after I filled all of the January boxes, so I have added them as kits in the shop. You can read about the contents and get one right here if you wish.
I'll share more pages as I get them done. I've also been making lots of new collage sheets, and I'll get them in the shop soon. I've been planning and scheming for new things I want to do for the shop and just crafting in general. I just need to be able to get up off of this couch a bit more. Luckily for me, I have the best husband in the world and he doesn't mind that I've been making messes in his game room where the comfy couch and big tv are, and he doesn't mind to get things from my studio that I can't easily get to myself.
What about you? Have you been making lots of Valentines? Leave me a link, I would love to see. And actually, if you would like to swap Valentines with me, send me an email. I've made a few I would love to send out. I know it's nearly here already, but we can share the love a bit longer, can't we?
