This is my very favorite doll. I don't think I have ever shown her to you before, but she is very special to me. When I met my husband, one of our very first dates was a fun weekend in Atlanta. We went anitquing all around Atlanta, (how could I not fall in love?) and he took me around to some of his favorite shops. I had seen this beautiful doll, and totally loved her, but she was a little out of my price range as I was a single Mom then. However when I was packing up to go home, she magically appeared in my hotel room! I treasure her with my whole heart.
She is quite old and I have been affectionately calling her Marie lately as her little rubber band that holds her head to the inside of her body snapped and her head keeps falling off. I am trying to find a "doll doctor" where I can take her to get her rubber band fixed.
Isn't she lovely? A true southern belle.
For Mother's day, Loren and my girls painted this old china cabinet we had that was ugly. They even distressed it!
Yesterday he finished it by adding my very favorite vintage wallpaper to the back of it.
And now, it's a beautiful new home for all of my dolls. I can't tell you how much I love it! It's such a wonderful addition to my studio.
You know, I really think I will keep him. I'm a very lucky girl.
Much love, Cerri xoxo
What a beautiful post! and the dolls look perfect in their new home.

He definitely sounds like a keeper.
You might try a crochet hook to fix Marie's head. I put in a new band, catch it with a crochet hook and then connect it to the head.

I have a china cabinet just like that, in the ugly dark brown finish (it was banished to my garage, it was so big and dark and ugly. But, I LOVE how yours looks, and it gives me hope that I can transform mine...thanks for the inspiration!!!

The hutch is beautiful! I have 3 pieces (vintage: 2 bookcases and a hutch) that I need to get to work on...I already have the paper that I want to line the backs with, vintage-inspired, of course. ;)
