Welcome to another week of Show & Tell! I see there are lots of people joining in this week as well as lots of new comers, so plan on spending a while visiting and being inspired by everyone's posts!
My husband calls me the "container queen" as it seems that I REALLY love to collect things to store my things in. And after looking around and taking some photos, it appears that I collect "containers" as much as anything else!
My Mom came down and helped me work on my studio today and we made good progress, but I still have a bit to go. I'll show you my whole studio soon, but for now more snippets.
One of my very favorite things I love to use for storing my things is vintage basket purses. The one above is my newest one, and I think my favorite by far. I just found it this week while we were on our little trip. Found it in an antique shop in VA. It's lined with satin and everything else is velvet! Love it!
This is another of my favorites. I use this one for tags and all of the things I need to take back and forth to my booth at the antique shop. So it always has ribbon and scissors, tags, a pen, etc. I have several of these basket purses and always look for them. My Mom is hooked on them too. :0)
Another of my favorite things to store items in my studio is vintage hat boxes. I store everything from vintage millinery and linens to inventory for my shop in them.
I always look for unusual or beautiful ones, and these two are my favorites. I have others but these two are my very favorite.
(excuse the popcorn ceiling here, it was here when we bought the house, and I am not about to attempt the nightmare of removing it)
As you probably have figured, I have a ton of stuff. Not only do I have inventory to store for my shops, but also all of the lovely bits and pieces I love to use to create with as well. So I really use every available bit of space in my studio. Even shelves above the doors. I just use a step stool to get to things when I need them. But you can see, I use all sorts of different containers.
For me to be inspired and to work, I have to have things organized and pretty. So I am always on the lookout for storage that I think is pretty.
I am in love with satin boxes. I fill this type with all sorts of miscellaneous trinkets and grab them when working on projects.
Sheesh, more millinery, I think it's a sickness, really.
I decided since there are so many of you to visit today, I am going to do my post in two parts. I will do the second part of my post tomorrow, so if you'd like to see more, come back then too, ok?
Enjoy visiting everyone's blogs and seeing how we all love to organize our treasures!
(PS, this new and "improved" typepad is driving my crazy!! It's cutting off the edges of my photos, and if I don't use the large format for photos you can see the edges, but then the words are all messed up. Anyone else having this trouble?)
Here's your list!
And please check out Analise's blog to see her containers, and check back with her tomorrow for next week's topic.
Much love, Cerri xoxo
