We've Moved!

Long, long, long time no blog, hu? I realize I have not blogged in ages, and I have been thinking of starting up again. However, I have moved my blog to my main website which can be found right here. 

I have left this blog intact for archival purposes. I know the design isn't pretty, but that's the only option with the downgraded blog features.

A new shop, and new items!

Hello! I wanted to pop in and let you know I have added lots of new holiday and non holiday related items to the new shop!

I'm super excited about the new shop because it has some features that are very helpful!

One of the features I am most excited about is the fact that now you can purchase all of my collage sheets digitally to print at home as much as you would like! As soon as your checkout is complete, your files will be there for you to download immediately. Tutorials are also available for download! (which I am hoping to add lots more tutorials in the next year) I may have to email you image files for the tutorials, but all collage sheets and tutorial files are instant download. LOVE that! Of course you can still order collage sheets printed as well. 

Another favorite new feature is that you can see larger images of each listing, as well as multiple photos. This way I can show you more details of items, and especially of kits. LOVE that too!

A great feature for shoppers is that now when I ship an item you will automatically be sent a notice that your item has shipped! That's so helpful, and I love that too! :)

One of the things I love the most about the new website is the fact that my super talented daughter  illustrated, designed, and built my website for me! (she also designed and built our It's Paper Dear website as well! )

I can now give you easy to use coupon codes for discounts and such! If you love discount codes and free images, you will want to be sure to sign up for the newsletter! And speaking of discout codes, enter PINKCHRISTMAS at checkout for a 20% discount!

Another fabulous feature to the new website is the fact that whether you type in littlepinkstudio, or thelittlepinkstudio, you will end up in the right spot! Yay!

One last thing to mention, the blog will be moving there as well. It is just easier to have the blog and shop all in one place, and I can have my blog photos much larger. Typepad doesn't allow you to transfer your blog, so I am trying to figure out what to do with my content here that I have been blogging about for so many years now!

Testing, testing...anyone still out there? Let's catch up!

Hello!! I have no idea if anyone is even reading this blog anymore, but if you are, let's catch up a bit! It doesn't look like I have blogged since June! Wow. Never meant to just disappear, but things have been a little crazy here. I'll share with you what I have been up to and some exciting news in just a moment. 

First, let's go back to June. I turned 44 in June, and adopted the sweetest little kitten ever. Her name is Emma, and she has certainly been filling this empty nest with lots of love and cuddles. 

My niece and nephew spent the summer with us, and that was so much fun. We went on vacation to Washington DC, we went camping, watched lots of movies, and did lots of crafts. I'm so glad that they enjoy coming to spend time with us, and aren't "too old" for all of the things we have always loved to do. 

In July, I got super sick with a sinus infection and migraine AT THE SAME TIME. Ugh. I don't ever remember being that sick in my life. I was in the hospital 3 times over that one. Crazy. And the worst part was, we were on vacation! 

Then in August, I partnered with my super creative daughter and we created It's Paper, Dear. This is something we had talked about since she started college and it has been such a blessing to see it come to fruition. It's Paper Dear is a sweet little shop with all sorts of things stationery, pretty paper, and planner related. Everything is handmade by us, and designed by us. My daughter illustrates, designs, and maintains the website, I ship, do lots of the making, and design using vintage ephemera. We even recruited my Mom to help us make our #darlingdoris (our handmade version of the hugely popular Midori Traveler's notebooks) So it's a full on family affair here! We've had a fall line, and most recently a holiday line. 

We have even launched our own line of scrapbook papers, journal cards, and die cuts, which is something I have wanted to do forever! It's been so exciting to see all of this come together. 

Now, unfortunately through all of that my own shop and blog did get a bit, uh neglected. In fact, you're probably wondering what about my Christmas stuff?! Well, this November marked NINE years I have been working on Little Pink Studio, and I am definitely still excited about it, and wanting to keep making and selling sweet things. 

In fact, this Friday on "black Friday", I am super excited to announce that I am launching a brand new website! (and my holiday line of kits and supplies as well!) The new website is just so, so much better than the current website. Not only is there a whole new, fresh look designed by my daughter, but I think you'll find it more user friendly, too. Listings will have larger photos, as well as multiple photos, my collage sheets will be available in print as always, but now they will also be available as instant downloads for you to print on your own! It's been a bit scaled down, but I'm going to be offering my favorite things. Things I have always enjoyed having in my shop, and I have hopes this will give me the time to concentrate more on making kits, and even workshops. The things I really enjoy doing, and feel passionate about. The website it not fully live right now, (it will be on Friday!) but you can visit and sign up for the newsletter which will include all sorts of fun things including exclusive discount codes, and free images. :)

I'm really excited and looking forward to the next year and seeing what both of my little businesses will bring. 

I will be previewing this year's holiday kits the next couple of days here, and on instagram, and probably on the facebook page as well. I can't wait to show you what's been cooking in my studio!

Pretty paper parasol--June Little Pink Box

Hello! Thank you so much for your sweet comments and emails about my studio! It made me happy to read all of your thoughts on a room that is my little sanctuary. 

I wanted to pop in today and share the June Little Pink Box project and goodies with you. This month we painted and embellished large paper parasols, and I love how it turned out! I can't wait to see how the subscribers parasols turn out as well. 

I embellished my parasol with paint, vintage fabric, felt, new fabric, yarn, and oversized sequins.  The kits included those items plus several more things to make the parasol their own. Here's a peek at all of those lovely things. 

I love the pink and yellow combination, and all of the bright colors! And those oversized sequins? LOVE those. 

If you would like to grab a July box for yourself, I believe there are a couple left and they will be on sale until Sunday. The July box is going to be a really fun box and I can't wait to share it with you!

My creative space: Where Bloggers Create tour

Hello, and welcome! I am joining in today for the first time in a few years to celebrate and tour all of the studios shared with the 7th annual Where Bloggers Create Tour! In case this is the first time you have ever visited my blog, let me introduce myself. My name is Cerri, and I have been the owner of a sweet little shop for the past eight years, The Little Pink Studio. I also run a monthly craft subscription service, The Little Pink Box, and am co-owner (and chief Mom in charge) with my oldest daughter in a planner supply  business opening mid August called It's Paper, Dear. This is where all of the creative things happen in our home. Since this is quite the photo heavy post, please grab yourself a glass of iced tea and enjoy! I will try to keep my rambling to a minimum.

My studio is in a large open area in the middle of our home. It is divided from our library by a huge floor to ceiling stone fireplace and opens to our kitchen on one side. Since it is only divided by the fireplace and a kitchen wall, there are not any doors to my studio. I have made separations with old windows and columns as you can see in the photos below. 

Behind the windows are some of my vintage mannequins, and we have installed little lights that shine onto them so that when looking in to the room, it appears as if you're looking into a boutique of sorts. 

 

For the most part, our house does not get great lighting due to being surrounded by trees, but this particular room always has wonderful sunshine. It makes it feel so warm and cozy. 

This is the sitting area side of the studio. The white love seat is from Ikea, and the pale blue settee and the little peach chair are vintage. In fact, all of the furniture in my studio is vintage except that love seat and a cube unit I have on another wall. 

The 3 paintings on the right of this wall of some of my very favorite things. They were all painted by my great, great aunt. She was an amazingly talented woman that sadly passed in her early 40's while living in a mental institution. She painted SO many paintings that mostly everyone in our very large family has at least one original painting, all the way down to my generation. The furthest on the right is my original and the other 2 are copies of my mom's and aunt's originals. They are truly stunning in person.

You might have noticed that my walls are covered in fabric. We hung an unbleached muslin fabric on all of the walls, which looks just like a linen. The seams are covered all the way around the room with different vintage laces over a vintage pale peach satin ribbon. It's probably hard to see in the photos, but I love the way it looks.

 My room is filled not only with supplies, but also my collections of pretty things I love. 

All of these photos were taken in October, that's why there is a Halloween garland hanging from the cupboard, and there have been a a couple of changes since then. Mostly, just little changes like a cube unit filled with vintage lace and fabric, and there are more raskog carts from Ikea. (they're painted pink now, too)

And this beautiful kitty isn't currently visiting us. He's at home in Nashville with his Mom. :)

Vintage journals, summer sale, and a vacation notice

 

Hello everyone! I wanted to pop in today and let you know that we're having a sale in the shop, not just this weekend, but all week long! Most items in the shop are marked down 20% and all orders over $20 will ship for free. We will be on vacation this week, so orders will begin shipping on the 1st of June. 

I have also added some super sweet vintage art journals to the shop! These journals have all been created using rescued vintage books. Some have heavy cardstock pages, and some have a variety of vintage and new pages. 

They're all perfect for using as a journal, art journal, list journal, or scrapbook.

My spring list journal finished

Hello! I hope you are all having a lovely week! I wanted to pop in today and share the last little bit of my spring list journal. You can see the previous posts about it here, and here. 

My finished journal ended up being a chunky little book, just the way I love them! You can see the bits of lace and paper peeking out from the edges.

 

In addition to the final pages, I used the left over journal cards and tags to use up the remainder of my journal prompts. 

I just added bits of lace or fabric to make a little "pull tab" to each of these cards and tags and then tucked them into the pockets of the book. I layered the journal cards above on some layers of fabric and trim and I really liked how that turned out. 

I really enjoyed working on this book, and am thinking I may make a summer version as well. I did restock the spring kits so if you wanted one but missed out, you're in luck! You can grab a kit for yourself right here.  A few ladies have ordered more than one of these kits so as to do them with their daughters, and I love, love that idea! Lists are a great way to document how you're feeling lately, your current favorites, and more. The idea of having that documented just makes me happy!

More pages from my list journal

Hello! I hope you all had a lovely weekend! I wanted to share a couple more pages I have created from my Little Pink Box list journal. (it was one of the creative kits from the March box) I am finding it a lot of fun to work in this little journal. I have been keeping the pages super simple, using the journaling cards that were included in the kits, and just a few extra embellishments. The prompts were all printed on sticker paper, so it's super simple to just cut those out and add them to the page. 

In addition to the journaling cards, the journal kit also contained lots of tags to tuck into the pockets and to add to the extra pages. Here are a couple more of my tag "pages". 

I think list journals are a great way to remember little details of your life, your current favorites, or even favorite things from throughout your life. Keeping the pages simple just helps to make the journal manageable, and allows you to just spend a few moments a day creating your pages.

I mentioned before that I was inspired to create this kit by a challenge on instagram called "listers gotta list" or #listersgottalist. I did not end up working the April challenge, but have decided to join that in May. I have already created my little book to record and create the journal prompts in.

A peek into the March Little Pink Box

Hello! I hope you all had a lovely spring weekend! I am popping in today to share a few peeks into the March Little Pink Box. We made 2 creative projects, the first being a sweet and shabby list journal with a spring theme. 

I was inspired by all of the list challenges that are so popular on instagram lately, but I wanted to make a book that was shabby, and contained cute, vintage illustrations, and vintage fabric. You know, all of the things we all love! 

I made journal cards with vintage images, a personalized illustration for the covers, and journal prompts printed on sticker paper. I also included all of the vintage fabric, paper bags, vintage lace and embellishments to create their books. 

Here's a look into my book and the pages and tags I have created so far. My hope is to make a new page or tag each day, spending just a few minutes to make something creative. 

I am looking forward to finishing my little book. Let me know if you would like to see more of my pages and tags as I make them. 

The 2nd project we created was a darling little bird house. 

We covered petite wooden bird houses with paint and vintage fabric scraps to make a patchwork style house. Don't you just love that little vintage bird?! 

I love spring crafting with all of the happy pastels and flowers, don't you?
